I tried to claim once again my Halifax loan provider charges yet had the typical " It had been in the terms and even conditions" – so set up a repayment volume of £40 monthly to pay off my £1, 200 overdraft — last thirty day period was the very first time I paid back this £40.
I've today recieved the following letter off of them:
" We are actually writing to you personally about your current account and inform you the up coming steps we will do take influenced by your latest circumstances
We're aware you made an important claim relating to overdraft prices. This claim is currently on carry. Until your claim has been settle we will never charges more interest or even fees. We have decided that for the moment we will stop taking steps to get the money your own us for your account.
While you still owe us an important debt on your account, we will not make further payments from it (unless we must by law) before the account open for credit or throughout the overdraft minimize.
We ought to provide information about your financial position to credit rating reference companies, but we intend to change your credit score to reflect the truth that the amount your debt is is questioned.
We strongly recommend that you settle the amount your debt is on your account. We should still recover the amount you owe the moment your circumstances change and also your claim have been settle. "
Just questioning if anybody knows what this means and if it is likely they may write my own debt from as our bank cost claim is higher than the amount My group is currently in arrears with these
ThanksReply: Since the OFT have put in a examination case relating to charges, in the law legal courts now, just about all reclaims have been put in hold. The probable out come is a reduced volume agreed as regarding credit card charges. Refunds were given worked out returning six several years from when a claim was invest. So if you had 20 past due charges about £30 every one, total £600. You'd receive a refund in £350, which may be removed from any account balance.
So HALIFAX have been in effect saying " we may have to give you a refund for excessive fees, but we hope we will be able to wriggle out of it. So meanwhile do not necessarily use your own account tell you reduce the amount of money you are obligated to pay us at this time. If you will find any refunds thanks we will put it in your account to reduce the amount a person us. "
Keep all leters and details of when you first claimed, to help you charge these people interest!
Reply: I believe its saying in a round related to way to never use typically the account.

Best Answer:I used to work for Bank of Scotland Halifax. Blair Oliver Scott are not a debt collectors they are Bank of Scotlands own inhouse credit control department. Blair Oliver Scott=BOS=Bank of Scotland!! So don't worry.
What I would do is contact AOL and cancel the payment. Then I would ask the Bank for the unpaid charges back.
You will have heard of people taking their banks to court and getting their charges back. I am doing this at the moment and it is easy to do. It rarely gets to court and because it is in the small claims court you wont have to pay legal costs etc if you loose.
Go to www.moneysavingexpert.com & www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forums they will tell you the steps you need to follow. If you start a claim now you should get your charges back for christmas!!!
Good luck
